John is a Fellow Royal Institution of Chartered Surveyors FRICS, holds a RICS Special Diploma in Rating and is a Member of the International Property Institute.

John has over 35 years’ experience in the rating industry and leads one of the leading rating advisory teams in the country.

John is a member of Colliers' UK Management Executive Board. John is regularly called upon by the national media to offer his views on a range of business rates issues and he is involved in lobbying MPs/ministers and senior civil servants on business rates matters.

He is the nominated property expert to the National Trainers Federation and the Charity Retail Group.

John started his career in the Valuation Office Agency in Kidderminster and moved to private practise. He joined Gooch Webster (now Colliers) in 2000 and sits on the RICS Rating and Local Taxation Group. He has also held the position as Chair of the RICS Rating Diploma Committee having passed the prestigious qualification in 2014.

He founded 'Accurates' in 2007, the Collier's Compliance and Audit team, which although forms an integral part of the Rating team is now a leading brand in its own right.
