Anthony Hughes is the founder and director of Lincoln Green Brewing Company, the independent Nottinghamshire brewery he established in 2012. Since then, Lincoln Green has grown into a combined brewing and pub business operating six venues across Nottinghamshire and Derbyshire and employing around 80 people.

Despite holding a number of industry roles, Anthony remains a hands-on operator, working closely with his teams and dealing directly with the commercial and operational challenges facing independent breweries and pubs. His experience spans business growth, acquisitions, people development, brand building and the practical realities of leading a hospitality company through a period of unprecedented cost and regulatory pressure.

Anthony is currently Chair of the Society of Independent Brewers and Associates (SIBA), representing independent breweries across the UK, and is also a Trustee of the National Brewing Heritage Trust. In 2026, his contribution to the licensed trade was recognised with a BII Ambassador Award.

A passionate advocate for independent beer and the vital role pubs play within their communities, Anthony regularly engages with government, parliamentarians and industry bodies on issues including business taxation, access to market and employment regulation.
