Stephen Montgomery is Director of the Scottish Hospitality Group, an influential organisation representing licensed hospitality businesses across Scotland. Through the Group, Stephen works closely with hospitality operators, suppliers, industry stakeholders and politicians to ensure the voice of the sector is heard at both Scottish and UK Government level.

Under his leadership, the Scottish Hospitality Group has become a prominent voice on major industry issues including non-domestic rates reform, VAT reduction, tourism policy, investment, employment costs and the wider sustainability of Scotland’s hospitality sector. The Scottish Hospitality Group has played a key role in driving discussions around business rates reform and successfully campaigned for an independent review into the valuation methodology affecting licensed hospitality premises.

Stephen regularly engages with MSPs, MPs, Ministers and business leaders, while also organising industry events, political discussions and member forums across Scotland. Passionate about protecting Scotland’s pubs, restaurants, hotels and tourism businesses, he continues to advocate strongly for policies that support growth, investment, jobs and thriving local communities.
